Group ABA Therapy
Some skills are better taught and practiced in a group setting. When we have clients with similar goals and interests, we can arrange dyad and small group sessions, typically run in centre in a 1:2 ratio. If you would like to inquire about our current dyads/groups, we'd love to see if your learner would be a good fit to join in. The more the merrier! We offer wide range of groups, run by an ABA Therapist and supervised by a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst.
Our groups run in Sept-Dec, Jan-Apr, and May-Jun blocks. Most of our groups are capped at 2-4 participants, so spots are limited.
Intake Process
- Intake Form
This is the first step in the intake process for group services at Best Behaviour. If you are an existing client or have worked with us in the past, please reach out directly. An intake form (as well as other portions of this intake process) may not be necessary.
Upon receipt and review of the completed intake form, we will follow up with you to share an update regarding available group services. At this time, we are also happy to schedule a time to meet over the phone to answer any questions you may have about our services or ABA therapy.
If we are able to accommodate your service request and you decide that you would like to register for group services, we would continue with the registration process.
The intake forms are also used to create our wait list, in the event that we are unable to meet your service request at this time.
- Discovery Call
Your completed intake form will be passed on to one of our senior team members. They will schedule a 15-minute discovery call to further discuss ABA therapy, availability, and answer any questions you may.

- Group Screening Appointment
The senior team member will review the learner's file and reach out to schedule a group screening appointment, at no cost.
A group screening appointment is a 30-60 minute observation conducted by one of our senior team members. It is a chance for us to meet the learner and get to know them in a brief observation, to confirm the learner's fit in one of our groups. We will set up a variety of common group scenarios. We will also try to observe any relevant skill domains (ex. communication, social skills, play, independence etc.).
Group screening notes and a consent form may also be completed at this time.
If we have any reservations about the learner joining a group, we will try to offer alternative service options when possible.
- Registration Form and Registration Fee
A Group Registration Form will be shared with you. If a Medical Alert Form is applicable, that would be completed as well. Both of these forms can be completed electronically. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about these forms, or help you complete them over the phone.
Once your registration form has been completed and your registration fee is received, the learner's file will be set up shared with you and members of our senior team. This marks the beginning of your service agreement with Best Behaviour. Welcome!
- Begin Group Sessions
The learner will begin attending their group services, as outlined in the registration form.
At the end of the group, a group summary report will be shared. The purpose of this report is to summarize the learner's goals to date and recommendations for next steps (including strategies to continue and any potential service extensions).
Pricing
All registration forms must be submitted with a non-refundable $29 registration fee. This fee is designed to cover the cost of the time to register the learner for therapy (ex. coordinating schedules and team members, setting up the learner's file etc.).
Group sessions will be billed at an hourly rate of $60/hour. This applies to direct hours spent with the learner. Indirect hours will be factored into the hourly rate.
After the first group session, an invoice will be emailed for the full cost of the service block (including the first session). For example, if the group runs for 15 weeks, an invoice will be sent during Week 2 for the full 15 weeks.
Cancellation Policy
The following cancellation policy will be included in your Group Registration Form:

Group registration is final sale.
In the event of a cancellation, I must notify the Group Leader, Senior Therapist, and Clinical Supervisor. Cancelled sessions will not be refunded.
If Best Behaviour Inc. cancels a session for any reason, I will be notified as soon as possible. This time will be reallocated for additional indirect time (ex. activity planning, material prep, outing/activity fees).
I, the Parent/Guardian, understand that in the event of inclement weather, Best Behaviour Inc. reminds all clients and team members to travel by car only when it is safe to do so. When you do travel, allow for extra time, take care, and have caution on the roads. If the Therapist is unable to get to a session due to inclement weather, they may cancel the session. If it is a centre-based session and the centre is closed due to inclement weather, all parties will be notified. In both situations, time will be reallocated for additional indirect time (ex. activity planning, material prep, outing/activity fees). If the centre is open, then it is expected that the learner will be attending their session.
Late arrivals and pick-ups can affect learner progress, and impact the schedule of the learner that is seen after. If the learner is late to a session, I am required to contact the Therapist. The session will not be extended to make up the missed time. If the learner is not picked up when the session is finished, the extra time will be billed at the regular hourly rate.
Sessions will not be held on the following statutory holidays: New Year’s Day, Ontario Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day.
If attendance falls below 75% of sessions scheduled, Best Behaviour Inc. reserves the right to offer the recurring appointment slots to another family. This will not be done without significant advance notice and communication. Events such as vacations or holidays will not count against this policy.
